Update: We raised an incredible - and exact - $13,000 for Lost Weekend! We're so grateful for the support of our community and artists, the Alamo Winchester Film Club, our incredible volunteers, and all those who came out over the course of the weekend! Thank you, thank you!
We are so thrilled to share that the Peter Bullough Foundation (PBF) is the nonprofit sponsor for the Lost Weekend Film Festival, running September 26-29, 2024. There are three beautiful logos (shown below) for the weekend, designed by former PBF artist-in-residence Shelby Hubbard.
Â
The PBF will be hosting a silent auction throughout the festival in the lobby of the Alamo; you do not need to purchase a ticket to bid on an item, you may visit the lobby.
Â
Funds raised will provide stipends to help with artists’ expenses during their residencies, making it more accessible for artists to attend. Each year, our artists-in-residence travel from across the country to stay in Winchester and work on their craft. While here, the artists give back to our community by hosting incredible workshops and lectures. While we offer our residents free housing and studio space, it’s still costly for them to attend the residency: many go without pay for the month they’re here, in addition to paying for rent and utilities back home, let alone the cost for art supplies and food.
We will have incredible artwork from our former residents and friends! Look for work from Jinghong Chen, Robin Ha, Shelby Hubbard, Fan Su, Katie Prock, Nerys Apple, Julia Forrest, Tom Manto, Jeffrey Albright, Eugene B. Smith, Maple Cottage Pottery, Nina J Design Studio, Charla Hayen, Kristi Ryba, Horse and Hare, Phil Morgan, Les James, Tom Owens, and more!
In addition to the artists above, we're extremely grateful for support from: Christian Caine Design, Hunt Country Wealth Management, Winchester Little Theater, Lindsey Gibson, Bridgeforth Photography, GO Mortgage, Hopscotch Coffee & Records, the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, Bell's, Kimberly's, BarkBox, Lone Oak Coffee, Winchester Book Gallery, Wilkins Shoes, Oakstone, Bonnie Blue, Dharma Yoga, Sheetz, T-Mobile, Martins, 5 Star Auto Spa, Bee Sacred Reflexology, Nibblins, Luray Caverns, Longhorn Steakhouse, Thandeka Berg, Tina Fitzwater, Clark & Hopkins, Slater Run, Winchester Brew Works, Bluemont Winery, Kelly Rice, Melissa Rice, Pittsburg Steelers, Washington Nationals, Shenandoah University, George Mason University, United Way, George Washington Hotel, Newtown Laundry & Co, Cooper's Hawk Winery, Murphy Beverage, Angry Buddha Body Shop, the Baltimore Orioles, Brusters, Village Square, Gail Consulting, Blue Plate Books, Belinda Kittrell, Dr. Evans of the Shenandoah University Marching Band, Gary Auerbach and Wendy Werner, Andy Gyurisin, Anand Jagannath and Wendy Schaenen, Phyllis Mooney, Suzan Herskowitz, Kyle Hopkins and Paul Richardson, Dan and Morgan O'Brien, Robin Ha, Hella Rader, and Mandy Vecero.
