About the Event
How do we tell stories that honor culture and heritage without falling into clichés or reducing them? Join us for an engaging workshop designed for creators of all kinds—writers, visual artists, and storytellers alike. Using the Haitian folkloric horror film Sea Spirits as our guide, artist-in-residence Edson Jean will teach us how cultural roots can be woven into the very bones of a story. You'll leave with a deeper appreciation for stories and work that honor the complexity and humanity of the cultures they represent.
Thank you to the Marion Park Lewis Foundation for the Arts for sponsoring this season's events!
