About the Event
Interested in bookbinding? What to make your own book? Join us on Saturday, April 9 at the Peter Bullough Foundation from 10am - 12pm for a bookmaking workshop with artist-in-residence Jacob Z. Wan! Participants will learn how to make an eastern binding-style book. Materials to make your own book during the workshop will be provided. You are encouraged to bring any scrap paper, found objects, useless magazines, and books! Adults and kids over age 10 are invited to attend. paper (all kinds)
old books (picture books, magazines, etc)
About Jacob Z. Wan:
Jacob Z. Wan (he/him) is a contemporary bookbinder who creates mixed-media conceptual books to explore identity, sexuality, and the importance of oneself. He received his BFA and MFA from the University of Central Florida, and he has exhibited in Florida Biennial, International Book Art Exhibition, Germany, and China. Wan moved to the USA from China in 2014, and currently resides in Orlando, FL. You can find him on instagram @jacobzwan.
