About the Event

Artist Markus Denil invites you into the process of tactile impression-making - a method they've been exploring in their own work. Participants will learn how to create 3-dimensional impressions using everyday objects, layers of toilet paper, and water. The created impression is delightfully detailed. This workshop is great for participants of any age!

About the Artist:

Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and raised on the rural Atlantic coast, Markus Denil (b. 1990) is a queer trans Jewish artist whose practice thrives on experimentation, mischief, and urgency. Growing up as the unruly middle child of two NSCAD-trained artists, Markus developed a bold, transdisciplinary approach shaped by curiosity, existential restlessness, and creative defiance.

Markus holds a BFA in Studio Art with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies in Sexuality from Concordia University (Montreal) and an MFA in Studio Art from Syracuse University (New York). His work spans multiple disciplines—visual, conceptual, performative—and often asks more questions than it answers.
