About the Event

Composition (noun): thoughtful arrangement of forms, shapes, or objects in a space.

Compost (noun): decaying material that is broken down and reused as fertile soil.

What if instead of stressing about making something perfect through tedious decisions we let go and just created? What if we found interesting, lovely things in the messes we make?

In this workshop you'll experiment with different materials, make messes, and find surprising beauty and interesting creations that you'd never find by being careful and meticulous. This workshop is en excellent practice in keeping the judgmental part of our brains/inner critic at bay through playfulness and "let's see what happens if..." This workshop emphasizes curiosity and joy as critical tools in generating new ideas, and will provide you with a series of drawings to use as jumping off points for future works. We can't wait to watch what grows at Rah's Composition as Compost workshop!
